How to set a Live Photo wallpaper on iPhone
This tool converts your GIF into a .mov video + .jpg cover image. To use it as a Live Photo wallpaper on iPhone:
- Convert your GIF using the tool above and download the ZIP file.
- Transfer to iPhone — AirDrop the ZIP to your iPhone, or save it to iCloud Drive / Files app, then extract on your iPhone.
- Use intoLive (free) — Download intoLive from the App Store, open it, tap "Video to Live", select the extracted .mov file, adjust the cover frame to match the .jpg cover, and save as Live Photo.
- Set as wallpaper — Open the Photos app, find the newly created Live Photo (look for the LIVE badge), tap the Share button, scroll down to "Use as Wallpaper", and set it to your Lock Screen.
Alternative apps: VideoToLive, Live Maker, and many other free iOS apps support importing .mov files as Live Photos. The process is similar across all of them.
Note: Safari on iOS does not support WebCodecs, so the conversion needs to be done on a desktop browser (Chrome or Edge recommended). Transfer the result to your iPhone after conversion.
